Scholarship Benefits
International students awarded the CSC Scholarship will receive:
- 2,500 RMB for undergraduate students
- 3,000 RMB for master’s students
- 3,500 RMB for doctoral students
Language of Study:
- Programs are available in English or Chinese.
- English-taught programs generally require proof of English proficiency (IELTS, TOEFL, or Duolingo).
- Chinese-taught programs include one-year language preparatory courses; students with HSK4 or above may skip the preparatory year.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Open to all international students
Age limits:
- Undergraduate: ≤ 25 years
- Master’s: ≤ 35 years
- Doctoral: ≤ 40 years
Required Documents
- Valid passport (at least six months remaining)
- Recent passport-sized photograph with white background
- Academic certificates and transcripts (translated and notarized)
- Recommendation letters (for postgraduate applicants)
- Study plan or research proposal (for postgraduate applicants)
- Medical examination form
- Police clearance certificate (no criminal record)
- Provisional admission letter from a Chinese university (optional)
- CSCA report (for undergraduate applicants only)
Important: All academic documents must be certified by the relevant Ministry of Education and Foreign Affairs in the applicant’s home country.
How to Apply (Updated CGSIS Instructions)
- Visit the official website: www.campuschina.org , www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchina
- Create an account or log in to the CGSIS system.
- Fill in personal details:
- Click “Edit Personal Details”, complete all fields, verify, and save.
- Return to the main page by clicking “Finish”.
- Select the correct Program Category:
- Type A: Scholarship via local Chinese Embassy or Ministry of Education
- Type B: University-based program (direct application to a Chinese university)
- Type C: Special appraisal programs notified by CSC
- Enter the correct Agency Number:
- Obtain from the responsible agency or university.
- Mismatch between Program Category and Agency Number will prevent processing.
- Fill in application information:
- Complete Language Proficiency and Study Plan sections
- Upload Supporting Documents
- Select university or major:
- Type A: Choose from available institutes according to student category and preferred language
- Type B & C: Select discipline and major as per university listings
- Review and submit:
- Carefully check all information and documents before clicking “Submit”
- After submission, you can only edit via “Withdraw” before processing begins
- Print your application form for your records and required submission.
- Submit to dispatching authorities (embassy or Ministry of Education) or directly to the university depending on the program type.
